Firefighter/Paramedic

Sanibel Fire & Rescue District is seeking dedicated firefighters committed to serving our island community. Both EMT and Paramedic applicants are encouraged to apply.

We are a community-first, all-hazards fire district. We go above and beyond for the people we serve, guided by our oath to put others before ourselves. Our team is expected to perform across a wide range of incidents. On Sanibel, water is part of the job: firefighters are expected to work in, on, and around the water during rescue and emergency responses. Selection Process: Selected applicants will be contacted by District administration with testing dates, locations, instructions, and other required information. Applicants selected to continue in the process must successfully complete a swim evaluation, physical agility test, and written examination before advancing to an oral interview. Before employment, candidates must complete the required pre-employment physical, drug screening, criminal and driving-record background checks, and psychological evaluation.

Requirements: Florida Firefighter I and II certification, Florida Paramedic certification, Current BLS CPR certification, Current ACLS certification, Valid Florida driver license

Salary: $79,822 (includes FLSA and Holiday Pay)
