The Orange County Fire Authority will be accepting applications for the position of Firefighter Trainee beginning Friday, February 1, 2019.

JOB INTEREST CARD
Salary (during academy):
$5,194.80 per month (Step 1 of the Firefighter Trainee Classification)
Salary (upon promotion to Probationary Firefighter):
$5,877.39 per month (Step 1 of the Firefighter Classification)
Education and Experience (position requirements at time of application):
Must be at least 18 years of age
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalency certificate
License and Certification (position requirements at time of application):
Possession of a valid Class C California Driver License or out of state equivalent
Possession of a current, valid California or National Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification
Applicants will be required to attach a copy of their current, valid EMT Certification at time of application submission. A current, valid California Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic License (issued by the State of California Emergency Medical Services Authority - "blue-card") will be accepted in lieu of a current, valid California or National Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification. Failure to submit the required documentation at time of application will result in disqualification.
Candidates who successfully complete the selection process and are chosen for employment with the Orange County Fire Authority must successfully complete a comprehensive, sixteen (16) week firefighter academy and the OCEMS accreditation process.

BIDDLE PHYSICAL AGILITY EXAMINATION:
The Biddle Physical Ability Test will be coordinated by the OCFA at a nearby Orange County college and proctored by the college staff. Possession of a current Biddle Physical Ability Certificate will not substitute for participation in this portion of the selection process.
Employees represented by the OCPFA hired after September 1, 2016 are not permitted to use tobacco products on or off duty.
