The Pewaukee Fire Department is recruiting and currently accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Benefited Firefighter/EMT with an anticipated start date in August for the Fire Academy. For candidates selected to continue, the hiring process includes:

Qualifications:
Required to be a State of Wisconsin certified EMT and Firefighter I; will be required to obtain Wisconsin State Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Certification, both pumping and aerial as well as Firefighter II within first year or as agreed upon by Command Staff. The Department will sponsor the applicant through Paramedic school after one year and applicants must pass the course to continue their employment. Applicants are required to hold a current CPAT Certificate or pass CPAT within 3 months of hire. Also, must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Out-of-state candidates will be required to obtain Wisconsin reciprocity within 24 months of appointment for fire service certifications.
