- State of Alaska EMT-2 (equivalent) or higher
- American Heart Association BLS Certification
- EMS Provider experience within previous 1 yearAdditional Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- At least 21 years of age
- Must possess unrestricted State of Alaska Driver’s License
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
- Must be able to pass a complete physical exam, pre-employment drug test anddemonstrate excellent physical health
- Must be able to frequently lift/move 50+ pounds and occasionally lift/move 100+pounds
- Specific vision abilities to include close vision, color vision, distance vision,peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be comfortable traveling by small airplane, helicopter, boat, ATV,snowmobile and/or any other means necessary to reach an emergency scene.Desirable Qualifications
- ICS 100, 200, 700 & 800 (or ability to attain in 1 year)
- Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Certification (or ability toattain in 1 year)

• Advanced EMS provider certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (or ability to attain in 1 year)
Responsibilities:
This position is primarily responsible to provide emergency medical services 24/7 (including nights, weekends and holidays) and operation and maintenance of specialized EMS equipment. This position may be asked to periodically supervise volunteers and at times responsible for EMS operations.
Duties and Tasks Performed:
- Primarily respond to all EMS, fire, medevac, and rescue calls and provide medical care and treatment at the level of certifications in emergent and non-emergent settings
- Secondary backup for paperwork, training, and phone calls
- May be asked to recruit, train and maintain readiness of EMS volunteers
- Assist with restock and cleaning of any supplies immediately upon end of call out
- Be willing and able to communicate and coordinate in a professional manner with otherlaw enforcement and medical professionals including (but not limited to) Bristol Bay Borough Police, Alaska State Troopers, National Park Service, health clinic staff and other Bristol Bay Borough Fire Department staff and volunteers
- At times, be willing and able to coordinate and teach continuing education programs for public safety officials, such as Bristol Bay Borough employees including (but not limited to) full time and part time seasonal staff of all departments
- Assist with monthly date check of medical supply inventory
