$22.00/hour + DOE POSITION TYPE: 48 hours on duty, 96 hours off

CLOSE DATE:

1. Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
2. Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
3. Ability to pass a physical fitness test.
4. Ability to work competently in stressful or emergent situations.
5. Must have a current Alaska Driver’s License.
6. Must have current American Heart Association CPR certification.
7. Willing to obtain Alaska EMT-1 Certification within six (6) months of hire. 8. EMT-1,2,3, or paramedic preferred
9. Firefighter 1 experience preferred.

DUTIES:

1. Responsible for fire protection and ambulance service for the City of Kotzebue.
2. Responsible for providing patient care within defined scope of practice.
3. Responsible for vehicle inspections and ambulance operations during assigned shifts. 4. Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the fire department facility, apparatus, and

equipment.
5. Responsible for clear communications in person, over the phone, and via radio. 6. Perform and/or assume other job or work-related duties as assigned.
7. Have or be willing to obtain all required immunizations.
8. Be willing to attend meetings and training outside of the regular duty schedule.
