Lateral Firefighter/Paramedic

Open to qualified lateral candidates. Scoring: Pass/fail physical agility, 100% assessment center/interview. Certified separately to the appointing authority.

Lateral-Transfer Qualifications: Successful completion of a fire academy that meets all the requirements for Firefighter 1 and 2 certifications as established in NFPA 1001 and NFPA 472. Currently employed as a firefighter with a fire protection agency. Minimum of two years of full-time structural firefighting experience in a jurisdiction similar in size or larger than the City of Pullman, or equivalent as determined by hiring authority. Possession of current certification as Paramedic in the state of residence or national registry and able to obtain equivalent level of certification as recognized by the state of Washington within 3 months of appointment.

Requirements: Firefighter 1 and 2 certifications (NFPA 1001/1472), currently employed as firefighter, minimum 2 years full-time structural firefighting experience, current Paramedic certification, valid driver's license, U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, ability to read/write/speak English, meet RCW 41.08.070 requirements

Salary: Step 1: $6,564/month to Step 5: $7,979/month (with 11% Paramedic Premium for Firefighter/Paramedics)
