Firefighter Paramedic

The Moses Lake Fire Department is a career fire department that operates on a 48/96 work schedule and provides firefighters with 15 annual Kelly days, supporting a healthy work–life balance. The department prides itself on being progressive and continually growing to meet the community's needs. Moses Lake firefighters deliver a full range of services, including fire suppression, advanced life support, and emergency medical transport. The department is also an active partner in the regional Grant County Hazardous Materials Team and provides specialized response capabilities such as technical rescue, ice rescue, and water rescue. In addition to emergency response, the Moses Lake Fire Department is committed to community education and engagement, building strong relationships with residents as it serves an expanding city. Firefighters are represented by IAFF Local 1258, ensuring a strong voice in labor representation.

Requirements: Written Examination required. Public Safety Test written is required, written scores will be submitted to the department and pulled prior to candidate selection for oral boards. Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) required - MLFD accepts CPATs from Nationally Recognized organizations. If you have passed a PST CPAT, no further action is required. If you have passed a CPAT with another organization, please upload that certification to your PST account or email it to hmerritt@cityofml.com. The CPAT must have been conducted within 6 months of application.

Requirements: Age 18+, US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident, High School Diploma/GED, Valid Driver's License, Paramedic Certification required, Firefighter 1 Certification preferable, No felony convictions (adult or juvenile), No illegal drug use in last 5 years, No traffic crime convictions in last 5 years, Vision requirements per NFPA 1582, Ability to read, speak and write English, Written examination and CPAT required

Salary: FF/EMT: $74,786.96 entry to $106,848.67 top step. Employees who possess and maintain a paramedic certification and operate at such capacity for the City of Moses Lake Fire Department will receive a 12% increase of the top step for Firefighter/EMT.
