Firefighter

Entry-level general duty firefighting and rescue work in combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires, and emergency medical services for the protection of life and property. Performs firefighting activities including driving fire apparatus, operating pumps, laying hose, fire combat and extinguishment. Participates in fire drills, training, building inspections, and general maintenance of fire department property.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, 18 years old, valid Tennessee driver's license, 16hr and 64hr Basic Firefighting Class Certification within 6 months, NIMS-ICS 100/200/700/800 within first year, CPR Certification within first year, TN Firefighter I Certification between years 1-2, TN Firefighter II Certification between years 2-3, physical strength and ability to lift 125 lbs frequently
