Lateral (FAO) SR Firefighter

The Senior Firefighter protects and serves the public through fire prevention activities, emergency responses to fire, EMS, hazardous materials, and technical rescue incidents.

Examples of Duties
Drive emergency vehicles to calls for service
Operate pump and/or aerial device
Must be familiar with and able to perform all functions of on-scene emergency operations
Perform fire suppression and rescue activities to protect life and property
Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications
Maintain a valid Class "E" driver's license or equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years of continuous fire service. All requirements must have been successfully completed for the rank of Firefighter and successfully complete the following courses:
Building Construction Awareness- 1123
Emergency Vehicle Driver Training- 1210
Pump Operations 1- 1220
Aerial Operations- 1250
Technical Rescuer- 3310
NIMS for the Fire Service
NREMT Certification as an EMT, AEMT, NRP
SC Licensed as an EMT, AEMT, or NRP

Supplemental Information
Sign on Bonus - $3,000 for certified individual. $1,500 for a new recruit.
Credit for years of service up to 10%
Up to 173 hours of built-in Overtime
Double time on Holidays worked
24/48 shift schedule
