Job Description
Perform skilled firefighting work in combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires; in rendering medical assistance at medical and other emergency scenes; and in operating and maintaining Fire Department equipment, apparatus, and work environment. Salary is $800/week during 18-week academy training, then $72,000-$106,000 upon completion depending on grade level.
Requirements: Age 18-34, US Citizen, valid driver's license, High School Diploma or GED, Physical Performance Assessment (PPA) or CPAT certification (September 2025 or later), no felony convictions, Rhode Island EMT/AEMT/Paramedic license obtainable prior to employment
Salary: $800/week during training | Upon academy completion: $72K - FF 3 | $78K - FF 2 | $106K - FF 1
