Community (In-District) Volunteer Firefighter

Must live or work inside the City of Sutherlin or Calapooia Rural Fire District
Must be able to Pass Background Investigation and NFPA Physical
Must have own transportation.
Must have Oregon Driver's License and be insurable
Must complete 300+ hours of initial Firefighter Training (First Year)
Attend Thursday Evening Drills
Respond to large incidents and Station Coverage requests when available
Point Reimbursement available for calls, shifts, training, and meeting attendance

Fall 2026 Recruitment Timeline:
Recruitment Opens: Sept. 14, 2026
Recruitment Closes: Oct. 16, 2026
Interviews: Late Oct. 2026
Start: Mid Nov. 2026
Fire Academy: January 2027 – April 2027 (One or two Evenings a week, and Weekends)
