General Description of Position:
The Aurora Fire Department is actively seeking Part-Time Firefighter/Paramedics. Under the direction of the Fire Chief, the Part-Time Firefighter/Paramedics perform a wide variety of tasks including the delivery of Emergency Medical Services, fire suppression, and rescue responses.

Requirements:
Qualified candidates must have excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills. The Aurora Fire Department is seeking highly motivated Firefighter/Paramedics whose personal values align with the organization's core values of Service, Compassion, and Professionalism.

A valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record.

Must possess a valid Firefighter Level II certification in the State of Ohio.

Must possess a valid Paramedic certification in the State of Ohio or be currently enrolled in a chartered Paramedic program. (Firefighter/EMTs must upgrade to Paramedic certification within one year.).

All Paramedics must possess BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or PEPP, and ITLS or PHTLS certifications and maintain such as a requirement for continued employment.

Currently enrolled Paramedic students may apply; however, Firefighter/EMTs must pledge to earn State of Ohio Paramedic certification within one-year of hire as a requirement for continued employment. Current scheduling includes 12-hour shifts (08:00-20:00, 20:00-08:00); each member is required to submit availability to work at least 36 hours per month, 12 of which must be on a weekend (Friday 20:00 – Sunday 20:00)
