IF TESTING IS FOUND TO BE NEGATIVE THE MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED. POSITION: PARAMEDIC (HELPS PROGRAM) – FULL-TIME LOCATION: STEUBEN COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES SALARY: $58,712 - $72,759 ANNUALLY, DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT(S): • Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license AND valid New York State EMT-Paramedic. • Possession of valid American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification • Possession of valid PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification OR possession of valid PEPP (Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals) certification • Possession of valid American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR certification Continuous credentialing, as specified by the Southern Tier Regional EMS Council, at the Paramedic level, as appropriate. Certifications and licenses are required at time of appointment and must be maintained on a continuous basis throughout the term of appointment. RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT: At time of application candidates must have been legal residents of Steuben County or one of the counties contiguous to Steuben in New York State (Allegany, Chemung, Livingston, Ontario, Schuyler, and Yates) for at least four months. If you are currently serving in the same title in a different department (Transfer), in a lower grade title in the same department, (Intradepartmental Promotion), or in a lower grade title in a different department (Interdepartmental Promotion) you will be required to serve a 12 week probation period but will retain rights to your previous position.
