Career Firefighter

This fire department is currently hiring for the position of career firefighter.

General Statement of Duties
Thorough knowledge of firefighting techniques and procedures as applied to fire suppression; general knowledge of fire prevention strategies and techniques; thorough knowledge of emergency medical techniques and procedures; ability to learn technical firefighting principles and techniques, and principles of hydraulics applied to fire suppression; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to keep simple records and prepare reports; mechanical aptitude; physical endurance and agility; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public; ability to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and maintenance of buildings and apparatus.

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent, NC Firefighter Certification, NC Hazardous Materials Operations Level, NC EMT Basic Certification, Valid NC Class B driver license, Successful completion of an agility test and NFPA/OSHA physical

Salary: $45,100 annually based on a 56-hour work week
