Fire Captain I

The Fire Captain I position performs difficult protective work in fire suppression. Serves as company supervisor, overseeing station and equipment maintenance; maintaining records; preparing reports. Acts as company leader during fires, rescues, hazardous materials operations, and medical services.

Work Environment: 24/48 rotating shifts. 56 hours per week. Paid bi-weekly.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or GED; Seven years of municipal experience in the fire suppression; Valid NC Class B driver's license or valid out-of-state driver's license with the ability to obtain a valid NC Class B driver's license within sixty days of employment and good driving record; NC Fire Prevention Level I certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment; NC Fire Service Instructor Certification I; One year of municipal experience as a full-time driver/operator; NC/IFSAC Fire Officer I Certification; NC or IFSAC/ProBoard Incident Safety Officer certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment.

Salary: $54,330.00 - $67,912.00 Annually
