Firefighter

If you're at least 18 years old and live within the Westhampton Beach Fire District, you may be eligible to serve as a firefighter or fire police officer. There is no upper age limit, and good physical health—relative to the role you take on—is important. These positions require a strong sense of responsibility, sound moral character, and the ability to work as part of a dedicated team. Whether responding to fires, directing traffic at emergency scenes, or maintaining readiness, your contribution is vital to keeping our community safe.

Volunteering with WHBFD is a meaningful commitment, typically involving 7 to 8 hours per week. This includes: Responding to fire or EMS calls, Attending training sessions, Participating in meetings, Maintaining equipment and readiness, Supporting community events and fundraisers. No prior experience is necessary. We provide all the training you need to become certified, confident, and ready to serve with pride and professionalism.

Requirements: Age 18+, Live within Westhampton Beach Fire District for 12+ months, Good physical health, Sound moral character
