Volunteer Firefighter (18 or older)

The Arlington Fire District provides fire protection and emergency medical services for a large portion of the Town of Poughkeepsie. Volunteer membership in the Arlington Fire District is open to anyone over the age of 16 living or working within the geographic boundaries of the Arlington Fire District.

Requirements for Firefighter (18 or older): I will not be permitted to work in any hazardous or other dangerous areas until successfully completing the NYS Firefighter I course. I will not be issued a blue light card until successfully completing the NYS Firefighter I or Scene Support course. I will attend a NYS Firefighter I or Scene Support course within eighteen (18) months of approval from the Board of Fire Commissioners. I will meet all minimum training requirements for active firefighter and obey all rules and regulations which are in effect.

Requirements: Age 18 or older, living or working within Arlington Fire District boundaries, NYS Firefighter I or Scene Support certification required within 18 months
