Firefighter – volunteer/paid-on-call

Summary of Position
The City of Monroe is currently accepting applications for the position of Paid-On-Call Firefighter. This is an excellent opportunity to serve your community in a meaningful way while gaining valuable training and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
Respond to 3–5 emergency calls per week
Attend required training (2 Tuesday nights/month)
Maintenance Crew (2 Thursday nights/month)
Participate in firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical operations
Maintain readiness of equipment, vehicles, and facilities
Engage in community fire prevention and public education efforts

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Age 18 or older
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Physically capable of lifting and/or moving up to 100lbs
Able to complete: Wisconsin Firefighter I certification within 18 months
Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification within 18 months
CPR certification within 12 months
