Job Description
The Junior Firefighters' Auxiliary is designed to expose young adults age 14 to 17, to the duties, operations and functions of the Island Heights Volunteer Fire Company #1. Junior Firefighter Auxiliary members will be provided with opportunities to participate in company training sessions, and will receive instruction on emergency responder safety and in general, acclimate the Junior Firefighters with all of the operations and services provided by the Island Heights Volunteer Fire Company No. 1.
The Junior Firefighters Auxiliary provides the following opportunities:
• Issuance of individual personal protective equipment
• In-house fire fighting skills training
• Participation in Fire Company events
• Response to emergencies aboard apparatus
• Safely performing various exterior tasks at emergency scenes (supervised)
