Firefighter (Part-Time)

Part-Time Firefighter City of Whiteville, NC The City of Whiteville is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Part-Time Firefighter. This position serves in a paid part-time capacity and is responsible for fire suppression, fire prevention, emergency response, rescue operations, and equipment maintenance. Key Responsibilities • Respond to fire, rescue, and medical emergency incidents. • Perform firefighting and fire prevention activities. • Conduct fire inspections and related public safety duties. • Operate and maintain firefighting apparatus, equipment, and station facilities. • Participate in ongoing training and certification programs. • Assist with rescue operations and emergency medical response. • Work safely in hazardous and extreme weather conditions. Minimum Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • North Carolina Firefighter Level II Certification. • North Carolina EMT Certification. Special Requirements • Valid North Carolina Class B Driver's License. • Subject to driver's history review. Working Conditions The position involves exposure to hazardous firefighting environments, extreme temperatures, chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous materials, and confined spaces. Employees are required to wear respiratory protection and other personal protective equipment as necessary.
