Wildland Firefighters - Wildland firefighters respond to grass, timber and brush fires. They can also serve as tender operators on both wildland and structural fire calls and respond to technical rescues. Our wildland fire recruit academy begins in the spring.

EMS - We welcome all level of Licensed EMS providers as well as unlicensed drivers to the EMS division. Applications for licensed providers are accepted year round. Applications for un-licensed EMS drivers are accepted on a limited basis. Our EMT class begins in early September.

SAR - Search and Rescue members respond to lost, missing and injured people in both the back and front country. They also assist the sheriff's office in evacuation notification. Membership is limited to those who live in Carbon County. The SAR Recruit academy begins in the late fall. A limited number of SAR applications are accepted each year.

Support - Our support members help out in a variety of ways around the station, from cleaning and maintaining vehicles and the station, to Peer Support and the Drone Team. Applications are accepted year round.

To be an RLFR member, it's important to have a basic fitness level, and the ability to perform both indoors and outdoors and in potentially dangerous and life-threatening environments. Members must be team players, willing to adapt, have a positive attitude, and a commitment to safety. Members are expected to act professionally in line with our values and our code of conduct both on and off duty. Red Lodge Fire Rescue is an essential part of our community and we pride ourselves on the diversity of our membership. Members must respect each other and the strengths and weaknesses we each bring. Our culture is deliberate and we expect our members to help grow and nurture it. We expect you to strive for excellence, to perform at your very best, and to know and admit when you are unable to meet that expectation. Asking for help is appreciated and understood. We expect our members to be available and to deal with occasional interruptions to their lifestyle. We expect you to be able to drop what you're doing when alerted to an emergency call for assistance, to respond to the emergency needs of your fellow citizens. We expect our members to be an active part of the organization and regularly attend training and meetings. It is an honor to be able to serve our friends and neighbors in our small community and we expect that information regarding that service be kept private.
