Battalion Chief of Logistics and Professional Standards

The Excelsior Fire District is hiring a Battalion Chief of Logistics and Professional Standards. This is the third of three full-time battalion chief positions, completing a rotation that places a chief officer on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Battalion Chief works a 24-hour Kelly schedule with two peer battalion chiefs, serves as duty officer while on shift, assumes command on emergency incidents, and supervises the Station 2 captains. Logistics duties include the SCBA, quartermaster and PPE, medical supply, hazmat, and boat and water programs, along with the scheduling and staffing software and incident reporting. Professional Standards duties include self-assessment/continuous improvement processes, community risk assessment and standards of cover, and response time analysis. The position reports to the Deputy Fire Chief. Starting salary is $85,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually plus benefits. Anticipated start date is January 4, 2027.

Requirements: Battalion Chief certification, fire department management experience
