Volunteer Firefighter

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend monthly fire department meetings
- Attend monthly fire department drills/training
- Participation in various community events (parades, fire prevention week, fundraisers, etc)

Minimum Requirements:
- Applicants must live within an 8 minute response time (obeying all traffic laws) of the Lake Crystal Emergency Services Building
- Must be at least 18 years old
- All candidates will be required to complete a physical agility evaluation, oral interview, and pre-employment drug screening
- Completion of NFPA 1001 classes during first year
- Completion of EMR certification during second year
- Minimum requirement to make 25% of all calls annually
- Minimum requirement of 34 training hours annually
- Possess a valid driver's license

If no position is available at the time of approval, candidates will be placed on a waiting list.
