Job Description
The City of Eldridge is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to serve as its inaugural municipal Fire Chief. This is a unique opportunity to guide the formation of the City's newly established hybrid department and shape the future of fire and emergency services for one of Iowa's fastest-growing communities.
The Fire Chief will provide strategic leadership during the transition from a volunteer to a municipal hybrid fire department while establishing organizational culture, recruiting personnel, developing operational policies, overseeing budgeting and equipment acquisition, and ensuring exceptional emergency response services.

Requirements
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY
- Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.
- Education/Experience:
- Education Required: Four-year degree in a fire science or related field (preferred) or Emergency Medical Operations. An associate degree and greater than five years' experience as a full-time fire officer will be considered in lieu of a four-year degree with an emphasis on career experience.
- Experience Required: Minimum of ten years related fire and EMS related service. Minimum of five years of experience as a fire officer with Incident Command experience.
