Volunteer Firefighter Internship

Volunteer Firefighter Internship for men and women interested in becoming a career firefighter. Work side-by-side with on-duty firefighters responding to calls, operating apparatus, and providing fire suppression, rescue and life safety services. Fire District provides job training, education and certifications. Open to residents of Minooka Fire Protection District, Channahon, or Shorewood (with approval from Channahon and Troy Fire District for Channahon/Shorewood residents).

Requirements: Minimum 18 years old, good physical condition, pass medical physical and physical agility evaluation, pass initial and random drug and alcohol screenings, no felony or serious misdemeanor conviction, committed to minimum 3 hours training per week at fire station, 3 letters of recommendation (one from active service firefighter)
