Part-Time Firefighter/EMT

The Marengo Fire and Rescue Districts are conducting ongoing recruitment and testing to develop a pool of candidates for Part-Time Firefighter/EMT's. We are a growing and progressive department with a vision focused on the future.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age or older, or between 18 and 21 years of age, and actively enrolled and in good standing in an accredited fire academy or EMS program
- Prefer: BOF/Firefighter II
- Prefer: EMT-B or Paramedic
- No felony convictions. Certain misdemeanor convictions may be a disqualifier
- Valid Illinois driver's license

*ALL EMPLOYEES MUST ACHIEVE AND HOLD AN IDPH PARAMEDIC LICENSE WITHIN THE MARENGO FIRE-RESCUE EMS REGION, WITHIN THE PROBATIONARY PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT WHICH MAY BE EXTENDED. EMPLOYEES WILL BE LIMITED TO THREE ATTEMPTS TO PASS THE NATIONAL PARAMEDIC CERTIFICATION TEST. FAILURE TO ACHIEVE ANY OF THESE REQUIREMENTS WILL BE CAUSE FOR SEPARATION.
