The Idaho Falls Fire Department is an all-hazards emergency services organization serving a growing and diverse region of Eastern Idaho. Our members respond to more than 17,000 calls annually across approximately 350 square miles, protecting the residents and visitors of Idaho Falls and providing emergency services throughout surrounding Bonneville County communities.

As an extremely busy department, we respond to a wide variety of emergencies at all hours and in all conditions. One shift may include medical emergencies, structure fires, vehicle accidents, technical rescues, hazardous materials incidents, and countless other calls for service. No two days are exactly alike.

Requirements: At least 18 years of age by test date, High School Diploma or equivalent, Valid Driver's License, Must pass medical examination (after contingent offer), Must pass background check (after contingent offer), U.S. Citizenship, Ability to read, speak and write English, No felony convictions as an adult, No felony convictions as a juvenile

Salary: Probationary Firefighters start at $18.40 per/hr. $53,580.80 annually. Move to $19.19 per/hr. $55,881.28 after 6 months. Move to $20.49 per/hr. $59,666.88 annually after 12 months. Personnel also receive a clothing allowance of $1,150.00 and 96 hours of holiday pay annually.
