Firefighter/EMT

A Firefighter performs skilled firefighting and other emergency response services for the Northern Lakes Fire District; performs related work as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responds to fire alarms and extinguishes fire; responds to calls for emergency medical services; responds to and renders assistance in emergency cases; cleans and inspects equipment and apparatus after returning from a fire; inspects equipment and apparatus and notifies supervisor of any defects; keeps fire station, equipment and grounds in a clean and orderly condition; participates in training activities and instruction sessions; performs various public information or education tasks; instructs fire department personnel in various specialized areas; operates personal computer and associated applications software; prepares and writes reports; performs assigned duties by ranking officers, such as preparing grant proposals, working with juvenile fire setters, maintaining hydrants, etc.; performs all work duties and activities in accordance with District policies, guidelines and safety practices.

Other Duties: Responds to occasional requests to staff back when off duty; reviews EMS reports for content and completeness.

Requirements: Age 18+, US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident, High School Diploma or GED, Valid Driver's License, EMT Certification required, No adult felony convictions, No juvenile felony convictions, Able to read, speak and write English, NFPA 1582 physical exam, Written Examination required, Personal History Statement required within 7 days of passing required exam(s)

Salary: $ 77,938.60 - $ 93,935.28
