UIFR has provided BLS for the past 20 years, and remains the foundation for our customer service, care and success.

Florida State Certified EMT credentialed by Lee County EMS preferred not required. * If not credentialed - candidate can volunteer until he/she has completed the credentialing process with Lee EMS. Upon completion you will become active and paid.

UIFR MINIMUM SHIFT REQUIREMENTS: Useppa Island is unique and candidates must be able to perform a multitude of tasks with in initial limited resources (staffing) on a 24hour shift basis. A minimum of 3 shifts per months including one (1) weekend day will be required.

UIFR HIRING PROCESS:
- Review of Application, Resume & References
- Initial 30-45 min interview via ZOOM
- Written, Skills & Physical Assessment (1 Day)
- Final Interview

Timeline and dates will be determined. Please note assessments can be scheduled on a weekend. If you currently work for a fire department, an approval form will be required and signed by your Fire Chief.

HOURLY RATES FOR UIFR PART-TIME EMPLOYEES: Rates of pay are calculated by a multitude of factors; Education, Years of Experience, Paramedic or EMT Certifications (that apply to Useppa needs). Base Rate begins at $15.00

Requirements: Florida State Certified Firefighter Certificate, Florida State Certified EMT (Lee County EMS credentialed preferred), EVOC, Current BLS Healthcare Provider, Boating certification (Captain's License or Boater's Safety Course recommended)
