Volunteer Firefighter

If you have the desire to serve, volunteer firefighting may be for you. Departments often utilize community volunteers to assist with the non-emergency tasks of the department. This frees up the firefighters and EMS personnel to focus on training and response activities, while enabling community members to provide needed support to help their local department run.

As a volunteer firefighter, you're not only in service of the community, but also a more visible member of the community. Volunteer first responders help their fellow citizens in times of need. You'd learn new skills, make new friends, be a part of a team, give back to the community, and make a real difference.

Stop in Station 1 on the second Tuesday of the month between 7 and 8 pm to talk with an officer about joining or contact us below.

Requirements: Must be 18 years old, Resident of Orange or neighboring town (Milford, West Haven, Woodbridge, or Derby), Pass a physical exam, Valid CT driver's license, High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
