EMT | Ambulance

Train and learn pre-hospital assessment and treatment to stabilize patients and prevent further injury. Also, learn the skills necessary to report accurately and provide rapid transport. Formal training is available that leads to certification as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician).

REQUIREMENTS

~ Desire to become an active, responding CT certified interior firefighter and/or EMT.
~ Adult Members - 18 years of age or older (at time of application).
~ WAIT LIST ONLY - Jr. Member opportunities (age 16 - 17) are currently WAIT LISTED and unavailable at this time.
~ Hold a CT motor vehicle driver's license with no "points" currently showing against your license.
~ Reside in the Mohegan Fire Company response district (or within 5 miles or less) driving distance of our fire station as shown by Google Maps).
~ Pass a fire company interview process and background investigation.
~ Be certified by fire company medical provider(s) as medically/physically qualified to perform as a candidate firefighter/EMT.
~ If accepted as a probationary member, successfully complete a minimum one year fire company familiarization and probationary period.
~ Subsequently, complete various additional required training and obtain CT certification to become an interior firefighter and/or EMT.
~ Successfully complete and pass annual training/tests, fire company medical exam(s), and be physically able to perform required tasks.
~ Sufficiently and properly respond to Mohegan Fire Company emergency calls and key activities.

Requirements: 18 years or older, CT motor vehicle driver's license with no points, reside within Mohegan Fire Company response district or within 5 miles of fire station, pass background investigation and medical/physical qualification, obtain CT EMT certification
