Volunteer Firefighter

Volunteer firefighters perform core firefighting tasks including combating, extinguishing and preventing fires of all types. Responsibilities include operating fire apparatus, using power tools, and learning fireground operating procedures and safety techniques. Members must respond to approximately 10% of the ~600 annual emergency calls.

Requirements: 18 or older, valid Connecticut driver's license with satisfactory driving record, pass background checks and physical exam, Firefighter I certification required (14-week training program provided)
