Montrose Fire Protection District is hiring full-time, certified Firefighter/EMTs or Firefighter/Paramedics POSITION START DATE: January 15, 2027 POSITION TITLE: Firefighter/EMT-Basic ANNUAL SALARY: $72,469 - $87,042 depending on qualifications POSITION TITLE: Firefighter/EMT-A, EMT-I ANNUAL SALARY: $77,574 - $92,251 depending on qualifications POSITION TITLE: Firefighter/Paramedic ANNUAL SALARY: $82,465 - $97,459 depending on qualifications BENEFITS: Pension, Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Paid Time-off FLSA/CAREER STATUS: Non-Exempt/Full Time WORK SCHEDULE: 48/96 Hour Shifts Opening Date: Tuesday, September 29, 2026 Closing Date (time): Thursday, November 12, 2026 at 4:00 pm MST Submittal Process: Application (completed), Certificates (uploaded) and Resume (submitted) online at www.montrosefire.org Selection Process: Candidates who pass the application/resume review may be invited to participate in the following process. FIREFIGHTER/EMT-BASIC : MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS HIRING
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. One (1) year certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Current Certificates: Colorado or National Registry EMT-B, Colorado Firefighter I or equivalent
Other: Valid Driver’s License
Age: Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of application.
FIREFIGHTER/EMT-A, EMT-I : MINIMUM QUALIFICAITONS FOR THIS HIRING
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. One (1) year certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
Current Certificates: Colorado or National Registry EMT-A or EMT-I, American Heart Association ACLS Provider, Colorado Firefighter I or equivalent
Other: Valid Driver’s License
Age: Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of application.
