Entry-Level Firefighter

The Entry-Level Firefighter application will open on November 16, 2026, at 0900 and will close after the first 500 applicants have applied. Minimum Qualifications: 21 yrs old, a valid driver's license, high school diploma/GED, a right to work in this country certification or US citizen. No prior experience required. Competitive Salary: $72,150 a year Schedule: While in academy 40 hour work week Monday-Friday, after the academy, Denver Fire utilizes a Kelly Day schedule. 24 hours on, 48 hours off, and every 3 weeks five days off. Duties & Responsibilities: Under supervision, firefighters respond to fire alarms as a team, and assist in extinguishing fires to protect lives and property. Other duties include administering first aid, rescuing individuals and animals during emergencies, and inspecting buildings for fire hazards. Firefighters may also be assigned to work in other roles, such as human resources, fire dispatch or community outreach.
