Resident Volunteer Firefighter

Resident Volunteer Firefighter program providing free housing and utilities at a SFD facility in exchange for volunteer firefighting services. Participants live in the fire station, receive free training, equipment, and annual physicals. Program designed for students and inexperienced firefighters seeking experience. May be eligible for stipend. Must pass FEAT, oral interview, background check, physical exams, and pre-service drug screening.

Requirements: Minimum 18 years old, high school diploma or GED, valid North Carolina driver's license, commitment to obtain and maintain certifications (EMT, Firefighter, Inspector, etc.), pass FEAT, oral interview, background check, physical exams, pre-service drug screening
