? Operate an emergency vehicle in a safe manner
? Work effectively under dangerous and stressful conditions, extreme weather conditions, hazardous situations, and other adverse situations
? Write clear and concise reports, correspondence, and email
? Read gauges, dials, instrumentation, and measurement devices
? Read and interpret diagrams, maps, floor plans, and geometric figures
? Enter and retrieve data into and from an automated system
? Select and deliver appropriate medication during EMS treatment using knowledge of medications and their appropriate doses, mixes, usage, and routes
? Use and/or operate forcible entry tools, extrication tools, protective breathing equipment, fire extinguishers, fire hose, ropes, and ladders
? Make repeated, rapid movements and sustain a high level of muscular exertion and physical activity for 15 minutes or longer, performing a sequence of physically demanding operations quickly and safely
? Safely and properly lift, carry, or drag equipment or victims (conscious or unconscious)
Required to Apply:
? High School diploma or equivalent.
? Be at least eighteen years of age.
? Candidate Cal-JAC Physical Ability Test (CPAT) certification achieved within the last twelve months.
? California EMT-P Certification/Licensure
? American Heart Association CPR (Healthcare
Provider), ACLS, and PALS (PEPP) Certification.
? California State Fire Marshal Firefighter I Certification (desired) -or- completion of a CA State Accredited Firefighter 1 Academy.
? Have a Valid Class C California drivers license.
(Must obtain DMV Firefighter Endorsement with Air Brake and Tank Endorsement within 18 months of employment).
? Candidates who are hired must successfully pass an 18-month Probationary Period.
? As a condition of continued employment, Candidates who are hired must complete and maintain El Dorado County Paramedic Accreditation.
? Candidates who are currently accredited El Dorado County Paramedics are highly desirable.

To be considered for the Lateral Firefighter/ Paramedic position, candidate must be currently working as a Firefighter/Paramedic and have a minimum of one-year experience in that position.
Compensation & Benefits

The El Dorado Hills Fire Department offers an exceptional salary and benefits package. The monthly starting salary for this position is $5,552 per month with an 8 step scale. Starting salary for Lateral Candidates will be dependent on their qualifications, inquire within. The compensation/benefits package includes:

Those applicants that are determined to be the most highly qualified may be invited to an Assessment Center and Interview (tentatively scheduled for October 1st thru 4th, 2018). The Assessment Center and Interview process will be weighted 100% for placement on the Department?s eligibility list. Qualified Candidates from the Assessment Center may be asked to interview with the Fire Chief and undergo a background investigation, medical examination and polygraph test.
