The Harnett County Emergency Services` Division of Emergency Medical Services currently has regular part-time Emergency Medical Technician positions available. An employee in this class is responsible for responding to the scene of emergency and non-emergency calls as a member of a two-person ambulance crew and applying necessary medical treatment to sick and/or injured persons at the Emergency Medical Technician level and transporting persons to and/or from medical facilities and other locations.
Examples of Duties
Work includes assuring that quality emergency patient care standards are in place, proper equipment and treatment are available and sound judgment and treatment decisions are made. Work will include completing necessary records and reports for emergency and non-emergency calls including information for billing documentation and legal accountability. Duties will also include participating in cleaning and maintaining ambulance, equipment, station house and premises.
Graduation from high school and some experience as an Emergency Medical Technician or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Certification by the State of North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services as an Emergency Medical Technician. Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver`s License. CPR Certification. Must be able to lift 150 pounds with assistance.
