Requirements

The Town of Wells is currently accepting applications for (1) Career Firefighter/EMT. This is a Union position consisting of a 56 hours per week schedule - 48 hours on 96 hours off.

Education/Training Requirements: Applicants for this position must possess State of Maine Firefighter I/II or Pro-Board Certification, a valid State of Maine Basic EMT license (or be eligible for verified reciprocity within 30 days of appointment.) Applicants must have and be able to provide State of Maine or Pro-Board certification for Basic Pumps or Pump Operator. Additionally, applicants must provide documentation of Interior Firefighter competency and candidates must possess a Basic EMT license, however Advanced EMT is preferred, or successful candidate must be willing to obtain Advanced EMT within the first year of hire.

Applicants must have a valid driver?s license with a verified clean driving record, must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent and must pass an extensive background check, physical examination, physical agility test, and psychological exam.

Application Requirements: Qualified applicants should submit all of the following: letter of interest, completed Town of Wells employment application, copies of: Firefighter I/II Maine Certification, Maine Basic EMT/AEMT license, Basic Pumps/Pump Operator certification, Interior Firefighter competency documentation, and Driver?s License information.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, union position offering a comprehensive benefits package and starting salary of $1,075.76-1,302.32 per week/depending on experience. In addition to the wages outlined above, educational incentives are also available to those who qualify.
