Augusta County Fire-Rescue is seeking individuals who are public servants, highly motivated, professional, and team-oriented, to serve the citizens of Augusta County as Firefighter/EMT providers. This position will perform fire suppression, emergency medical service, hazardous material mitigation, specialty rescue, fire prevention, and other work as required. Augusta County Fire-Rescue is a customer service driven organization that strives for excellence in all services it provides.
Augusta County Fire-Rescue is a combination department that covers 967 square miles with a population of 75,144. There are four County-owned stations. We support the County-wide volunteer emergency response system and provide career staffing in nine volunteer stations. We have two shifts, a 24/48 and a 12 hour Monday-Friday work schedule.
Applicants must possess a valid Va. Driver?s license, high school diploma or equivalent, a good driving record, must be computer literate and have the ability to maintain effective working relationships with associates and the public. The applicant shall be Virginia EMT Certified or NREMT, Firefighter II, EVOC 3, Hazardous Materials Operations, and be able to pass Regional and/or ACFR Firefighter physical agility test (or currently employed in a similar position).
Preferred Qualifications or Ability to Obtain
Advanced Life Support, Driver Pumper Operations, Driver Aerial Operations, and Vehicle Extrication.
