Qualifications:
Training and Experience:
- Minimum 18 years of age;
- High School Diploma / GED;
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Must be met at time of application:
- Valid Tennessee Driver’s License (Class D) or equivalent in state of residence is needed prior to employment
- No experience required, but preference may be given to applicants that have a IFSAC/ProBoard Certification of Firefighter 1 and/or current EMS certifications
Knowledge of:
- Fire suppression techniques
- Modern firefighting and rescue principles and tactics
- Emergency medical care
- Physical fitness principles
- Vehicle, equipment, and apparatus maintenance principles and techniques
Skill in :
- Providing emergency medical care
- Suppressing fires
- Using a computer and related software applications
- Maintaining vehicles, buildings, equipment, and apparatus
- Driving emergency response vehicles
- Conducting flow testing and service on hydrants
- Maintaining physical fitness
- Preparing and maintaining reports
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
