The City of Allen Park is now accepting applications to establish an eligibility roster for employment opportunities for the position of full-time Firefighter/Paramedic.

ANNUAL BASE COMPENSATION EFFECTIVE 4/29/2025

Paramedic:  openings are listed under separate paramedic posting if openings exist.

 

Fully Qualified Firefighter Paramedic:  $62,270.88 – 76,292.22 

($63516.30 – 77,818.06 -effective 7/1/25) 

Lateral Hires paid up to $76,292.22 ($77,818.06 effective 7/1/25), 

depending on experience as Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic

 GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must (upon submission of application):

  1. Be at least eighteen (18) years old, a high school graduate, or possess a GED equivalent.
  2. Be a citizen of the United States.
  3. Have a valid Michigan driver’s license or chauffeur’s license.
  4. Possess a current State of Michigan Paramedic License
  5. Possess current ACLS and BLS cards by time of hire.
  6. Certification of written exam results from Current Conference of Western Wayne, EMPCO, or other industry recognized testing entity.
  7. Certificates: Firefighter I and II certificates from the Michigan Firefighters Training Council
  8. Highschool diploma or GED.
  9. Submit to and pass an oral board interview.
  10. Submit to and pass a background and driving record check
  11. Submit to and pass a psychiatric evaluation, medical examination, and drug screen
