Salary: Firefighter/EMT: $54,909 - $87,573

Firefighter/Paramedic: $70,441 - $103,337

TO QUALIFY

Qualified applicants must possess a State of Florida EMT or Paramedic and Firefighter certifications; achieve a passing score on the FireTeam and Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) dated no more than one year prior to the closing date; possess a high school diploma or GED Equivalency; are at least 18 years of age; possess and maintain a State of Florida Class “E” Driver’s License; are non-users of tobacco products (for at least one year); and must meet all criteria of the City's current "Selection Standards for Firefighter Positions".

Selection Process

**Selection Process: All applicants must apply to the National Testing Network (NTN) for consideration. Following the evaluation of applications/resumes for relevant education, training and experience, selected applicants will be invited to participate in a pre-employment screening process which includes a Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ), background investigation, polygraph, interviews, and post-offer employment medical exam and drug test.

All candidates must begin the application process by visiting the NTN website to register and take the required Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) and the FireTeam Test (www.nationaltestingnetwork.com). Candidates are responsible for National Testing Network fees associated with registering and testing. If a candidate has recently successfully completed a Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT), the results may be eligible for transfer to the City’s application process.
