Fire Engineers operate and maintain fire apparatus and firefighting equipment; provide emergency medical service; and perform firefighting, technical rescue, hazardous materials response/mitigation. They train volunteers, participate in incident response and fire suppression training, and serve as incident commanders when needed. Work includes testing hydrants, preparing pre-fire plans, and participating in fire prevention activities.
Requirements: Valid North Carolina Class B driver's license, Firefighter/Rescue/Driver Operator/Pumps Certification, Wildland Firefighting Certification, high school graduation and considerable firefighter experience preferred
Salary: $47,112 - $51,823 depending upon experience and qualifications.
