Fire Chief

ITSQuest is seeking an Fire Chief with at least 14 years of career fire service experience in the Las Cruces and surrounding areas. Individual will be responsible for overseeing, directing all departmental operations, supporting and coordinating all operational & administrative activities for the department, managing staff, handling emergencies, developing and implementing policies, managing the budget, and ensuring adequate fire prevention and education.

The role demands strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress, dangerous environments while adhering to local, state, and federal regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science, Business Administration, Public Administration, Government, Fire Engineering/Science or related field.

Experience: At least 14 years of career fire service experience including operations, emergency medical services, training, training, with at least 8 years in supervisory experience.

Licenses /Certifications Requirements:

• New Mexico Clas E driver’s license
• IFSAC or ProBoard Firefighter II
• IFSAC or ProBoard Fire Instructor I
• IFSAC or ProBoard Fire Officer I, II and III
• IFSAC or ProBoard Inspector I/II certification with in 2 years of employment
• ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800
• Current New Mexico Emergency Medical Technician – Basic license or above (preferred)
• IFSAC or ProBoard Fire Officer IV (preferred)
• IFSAC or ProBoard Fire Investigator I (preferred)
• Equivalent certifications may be accepted upon review. License or certifications may be required within a specific date of hire
