Rogers Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief

Purpose:

The Assistant Fire Chief will act as the second-in-command of the Rogers Fire Department. They will assist the Fire Chief in all aspects of departmental administration and leadership. They will support the Fire Chief to achieve departmental goals, strategic objectives, and personnel management. This will include oversight of the department’s bureaus and divisions. The Assistant Fire Chief will assist in policy development, implementation, education, and strategic planning. They will provide oversight of supervisors, training, and professional development to ensure the Rogers Fire Department maintains its high level of operational readiness, competency, and professionalism.

Essential Duties:

• Provide leadership to emergency management and disaster preparedness
• Oversight of equipment, maintenance, and logistical support
• Facilitate continued expansion of the department’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
• Provide oversight to the department’s Health and Wellness Program(s)
• Ensure proper, expedient responses to FOIA requests
• Serve as the Acting Fire Chief in the absence of the Fire Chief
• May assume command of operations at complex incidents
• Provide for community engagement and public information
• Ensure the department maintains leading edge technology and tactics
