The Training Coordinator for Fire and EMS is responsible for overseeing all training aspects for the fire department's personnel, focusing on fire suppression and emergency medical services (EMS) training. This role requires collaboration with department staff and the EMS Medical Director to ensure compliance with state and national training standards. This position requires a dedicated individual with strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for training and public safety.


Position Essential Functions

● Develop, implement, and maintain training programs for fire suppression and EMS personnel

● Coordinate training schedules and logistics, ensuring accessibility for all staff.

● Collaborate with the EMS Medical Director to align training with medical protocols and standards.

● Conduct needs assessments to determine training requirements and areas for improvement.

● Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments and feedback, making necessary adjustments to programs.

● Maintain training records and documentation in compliance with state regulations.

● Provide guidance and support for instructors and training staff.

● Ensure that all training activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.


Position Qualifications

Required
● high school diploma or GED

● Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fire service or emergency medical services

● EMT and Firefighter I/II certification

● Certification as a Fire Instructor II


Preferred

● Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, Education, or a related field

● Prior experience in training or instructional design is highly desirable.
● Experience in a supervisory or leadership role is a plus.
