Salary: $56,613.00 to $61,916.00 (Depending on Experience)
Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 for full-time employees with a 2-year commitment.
We are looking for Paramedics who are passionate about delivering high-quality service and providing both basic and advanced patient care in a professional, caring, and cost-effective manner. As a Paramedic, you will assess and provide patient care, evaluate each call to determine the best course of action, and follow appropriate protocols.
Minimum Education and Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED required.
· State-issued or Nationally Registered EMT-Paramedic certification.
· Current ACLS certification.
· Current CPR certification.
· Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record according to Rural/Metro policy. A DUI within the last five years is disqualifying.
· Ability to work any assigned shift, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
· Availability for overtime as needed, especially on an emergency basis.
· Must meet local standards for hiring, training, and/or eligibility for promotion.

Essential Functions
Customer Service
· Serve the public effectively.
· Collaborate and interact cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, doctors, and other healthcare workers.
· Engage with representatives from other City departments, fire departments, and local, state, and federal agencies.
Emergency Medical Services
· Respond to emergency medical calls and perform primary and secondary assessments of ill or injured persons.
· Provide emergency and non-emergency medical procedures both at the scene and in a moving vehicle.
· Execute skilled tasks at emergency and non-emergency scenes and transfer patients to medical facilities.
· Treat patients according to established Emergency Medical Service protocols and Rural/Metro Fire Department policies.
· Document patient care in written reports.
· May serve as a preceptor for Paramedic and EMT-B trainees.
· Occasionally assigned primary duties as an emergency medical technician paramedic on 911 calls or transport ambulances.
· Under a physician’s direction, provide treatment or guide the response team in administering medications, intravenous solutions, respiratory assistance, EKG monitoring, telemetry transmissions, and other life support procedures.
Maintenance
· Conduct daily and weekly inspections of vehicles and equipment as assigned.
· Document and report any discrepancies in vehicles and equipment to the on-duty Fire Captain.
· Perform daily maintenance of facilities by cleaning, inspecting, and addressing any necessary maintenance tasks.
Compliance
· Review paperwork for accuracy and adherence to processes.
· Participate in scheduled and unscheduled onsite compliance audits.
· Implement corrective and preventive measures as directed by the Corporate Compliance/Audit Committee.
· Collaborate with Internal Audit, Compliance, and HR on recommendations and changes related to compliance and legal workflows.
· Take swift action in accordance with Internal Audit and Corporate Compliance on areas of concern.
· Comply with and enforce all policies and procedures.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
