ABOUT THIS POSITION
This position coordinates and monitors Phoenix Fire Department paramedic training based upon industry established curriculum; assists with coordinating and aligning hospital continuing education for paramedic; assists the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Captain with vehicular rotation for paramedic training; develops, implements and monitors continuing Phoenix Fire Department medical education and re-certification training; participates on internal and external committees that relate to EMS; maintains personnel certifications and appropriate records for the Department of Health Services; serves as a liaison between valley hospitals and the EMS office; and serves as an EMS team member. Currently there is one vacancy in the EMS Section of the Fire Department.

$24.91 (minimum) - $37.18 (maximum) hourly / $51,813 - $77,334 annually.

Two years of experience as an emergency department nurse, paramedic, EMT or pre-hospital coordinator with experience in training pre-hospital care personnel and managing certifications for paramedics.
Must be a current Registered Nurse, Paramedic or EMT licensed in Arizona.
Must be certified by the American Heart Association as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Instructor by the end of the probationary period.
An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ? The job requirements listed above, plus:
Experience in the following areas:
Emergency Room/Fire-based EMS operations
Training and Precepting of Fire-based EMS personnel
Emergency Care Instruction curriculum development
Emergency Medical Operations in austere/challenging environments
Familiarity with electronic communications in emergency settings.
Associates degree in Emergency Medical Technology or any higher level formal education.
